About this air fryer

This is the AF300UK, the 7.6 litre Dual Zone. Two separate 3.8 litre drawers, each with its own crisper plate, each able to run a different function at a different temperature for a different length of time — and a Sync setting that makes them finish together.

That is the whole argument for it. A single-basket air fryer means the chips wait while the chicken cooks, or the chicken waits while the chips crisp.

Two zones means a complete meal out of one appliance, or two different meals for two people who want different things. Each drawer takes up to 1 kg of chips or a 1.6 kg chicken, and the pair together serve four to six portions.

Six functions cover it: Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate. It runs at 2400 watts up to 240 degrees, controlled from a touchscreen rather than a dial.

It is not a small machine. 38 cm wide, 31.5 cm tall, 26.5 cm deep, and just under 10 kg — this is a thing that lives on the worktop rather than one you lift in and out of a cupboard. Measure the width before you order, particularly if it has to sit under a wall unit.

Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe. In the box: the air fryer with a UK plug, the two drawers, the two crisper plates and a recipe guide.

Ninja offer a two-year guarantee on registration in the UK and Ireland.

Why two drawers and not one big basket

  • Two independent 3.8 litre drawers — different function, temperature and time in each
  • Sync finishes both drawers at the same moment, so a whole meal lands together
  • Each drawer takes up to 1 kg of chips or a 1.6 kg chicken; four to six portions across the pair
  • Six functions: Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate
  • 2400 watts, up to 240 degrees, touchscreen control
  • Drawers and crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe
  • 38 cm wide, 31.5 cm tall, 26.5 cm deep, 9.89 kg — measure your worktop first

Two zones is the entire point

One basket means one temperature and one timer, so something always waits. Two independent 3.8 litre drawers means the chips go on Max Crisp while the chicken roasts, at their own temperatures, for their own times. Sync holds whichever finishes first so both land together. It is the difference between an air fryer that makes a component and one that makes a dinner.

How much it actually holds

Up to 1 kg of chips in a drawer, or a 1.6 kg chicken. Across the two, four to six portions. Worth being concrete about, because 7.6 litres is the figure on the box and it is the total of two separate spaces — you cannot put a 2 kg joint in it. For a family of four doing a full tray of something, it is the right size; for one big roast, it is not.

Six functions, and the two you will use

Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate. Most owners live on the first two and use Reheat more than they expected. It reaches 240 degrees on 2400 watts, controlled from a touchscreen rather than a dial, and both drawers and their crisper plates go in the dishwasher afterwards.

It is a big object. Measure first.

38 cm wide, 31.5 cm tall and 26.5 cm deep, weighing 9.89 kg. That is a permanent worktop resident rather than something you lift out of a cupboard for the evening, and the height is what catches people out under a wall unit. If your run of worktop is tight, check the 38 cm before anything else.

  • A 1.6kg chicken fits and comes out properly

Was sceptical a drawer would take a whole chicken but it does, and the skin is better than the oven gives me. Drawers go straight in the dishwasher which is most of why it gets used on a weeknight. Touchscreen is responsive even with slightly damp hands.

  • Two drawers means two different dinners

My partner and I eat differently and this solved it — one drawer each, different functions, ready together. Only reason for four stars is that each drawer is 3.8L rather than the 7.6L on the box, which is obvious once you think about it but not what I pictured when ordering.

  • Superb cooker, but it is enormous

Nobody warns you about the footprint. 38cm wide and over 31cm tall means mine does not fit under the wall cupboards where I wanted it, so it has taken over the corner permanently. The cooking is faultless and I would buy it again — but measure, properly, before you order. Also it is heavy at nearly 10kg, so shifting it to clean behind is a two-handed job.

  • Sync is the feature I did not know I needed

Chips in one drawer on Max Crisp, salmon in the other on Air Fry, both done at the same second. My old single-basket one meant something was always going cold. Genuinely cook whole meals in it now and the big oven has been off for weeks.

Before you buy

Is it really 7.6 litres?

7.6 litres is the total of two separate 3.8 litre drawers, not one large space. Each drawer takes up to 1 kg of chips or a 1.6 kg chicken.

Can the two drawers cook different things?

Yes — different function, temperature and time in each, independently. The Sync setting holds whichever finishes first so both are ready at the same moment.

How big is it?

38 cm wide, 31.5 cm tall and 26.5 cm deep, weighing 9.89 kg. It is a worktop appliance rather than a cupboard one. Check the height if it has to sit under a wall unit.

What are the six functions?

Max Crisp, Air Fry, Roast, Bake, Reheat and Dehydrate. It runs at 2400 watts and reaches 240 degrees.

Is it dishwasher safe?

Both drawers and both crisper plates are non-stick and dishwasher safe. The unit itself wipes down.

What is the guarantee?

Ninja offer a two-year guarantee on registration, in the UK and Ireland.

Delivery and returns

The air fryer ships boxed with both drawers and crisper plates inside, tracked from dispatch. It is a heavy item at just under 10 kg, so it travels on a courier rather than through the letterbox. The delivery window shown at checkout is the one we work to. If the footprint turns out not to suit your worktop, our returns policy sets out how to send it back and how the refund is handled.
